This call for proposals applies to the cooperation between European and third country higher education institutions from the South Mediterranean Region (Egypt, Israel and occupied Palestinian Territory), the Central Asian Republics, and the Western Balkans. The overall aim of the Erasmus Mundus programme is to promote European higher education, to help improve and enhance the career prospects of students, and to promote intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries.
Action 2 - Erasmus Mundus Partnerships (EMA2) aims to foster structured cooperation between EU and third-country higher education institutions through the promotion of mobility at all level of studies for students (undergraduate and masters), doctoral candidates, researchers, academic and administrative staff (not all regions and lots may include all mobility flows).
The Action is divided into two strands:
Strand 1: Partnerships with countries covered by the ENPI, DCI, EDF and IPA instruments
Strand 2: Partnerships with countries and territories covered by the Industrialized Country Instrument (ICI).

The overall budget for this call is €15.2 million. It is envisaged that 653 individuals will be funded.
Eligible activities can start as of 30 November 2010. Projects cannot exceed 48 months.
The deadline for applications is 15 October 2010.
