MEDIA 2007: Call for proposals - EACEA/04/10: Support for the implementation of Pilot Projects

This Call is based on Decision No 1718/2006/EC concerning the implementation of a programme of support for the European audiovisual sector (MEDIA 2007). One of the measures to be implemented under the Decision is to support the implementation of Pilot Projects. The programme may support Pilot Projects to ensure that it adapts to market developments, with a particular emphasis on the introduction and utilisation of information and communication technologies.

This Call is aimed at companies whose activities contribute to those objectives and which are established in one of the EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or Croatia.

The following actions are eligible:
1. Distribution: new ways of creating and distributing European audiovisual content via non-linear services.
2. Open Media Production Environment.
3. Distribution - Promotion & Marketing: the use of web techniques to develop local Cinema Communities.
4. ‘Junction Media Portal’: to widen and improve the access and the exploitation of structured information of European audiovisual content.
5. Previously funded Pilot Projects: Actions which have received funding under a previous MEDIA Pilot Projects Call for Proposals.

Actions must start between 1 January 2011 and 31 December 2011; the maximum duration is 12 months.

The total budget available is €1.5 million. Financial support will take the form of grants. There is no maximum amount to be awarded, but EU financial contribution will not be more than 50% of eligible costs.

The deadline for submission of applications is 14 June 2010.
