A package of legislative measures intended to improve consumer confidence in retail financial services has been presented by the European Commission. The package comprises three proposals: COM(2012) 352 - a draft Regulation on key information documents (KIDs) for packaged retail investment products (PRIPS); COM(2012) 360 - a draft revision of the Insurance Mediation Directive (IMD); and COM(2012) 350 - draft Directive ‘amending Directive 2009/65/EC on the coordination of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS) as regards depositary functions, remuneration policies and sanctions’.
