Roaming

The Council and the European Parliament have reached agreement on a draft Regulation which aims to ensure that users of public mobile communication networks do not pay excessive prices when travelling within the EU. The text is expected to be formally approved by MEPs in May, and then by the Council. Under the Regulation, customers will be allowed, from 1 July 2014, to sign up for mobile roaming services from a provider other than their usual one, but keeping the same phone number.
