CAP reform

The Council has adopted a set of amendments to Regulation 73/2009 concerning the application of direct payments to farmers in 2013. Ahead of CAP reform, the ’2013 Regulation’ aims to ensure a smooth transition from the current direct payments system to a new regime. In addition, a forthcoming ’Vine-growers Regulation’ will amend Regulation 1234/2007 (the CMO Regulation) to provide for the transfer of support measures to vine-growers to the single payment scheme (SPS).
