Animal welfare

A Communication ’on the European Union Strategy for the Protection and Welfare of Animals 2012-2015’ has been adopted by the Commission as COM(2012) 6. The new strategy ’will permit appropriate flexibility allowing operators to attain the necessary welfare standards by different routes.’
